From Saturday May 11, 2002. With thunder and lightning pounding
outside the garage arena of Jerry Pytlewski, better known as the
pigeon man, Stiga League Lemont held its first big night of
competition. Local king of Stiga, Jim Rzonca won the round robin and
the 5 points connected with it by an unblemished record of 9-0. Scott
Pytlewski, the son of afordmentioned Jerry finished 8-1 and grabbed
the next 4 points. Ryan Heraldo made the trek through miserable
driving conditions all the way from north suburban Deerfield and won
a tie breaker over Mike Lisowski for third and 4 points. Lisowski
finished fourth at 6-3 and received 2 points. Rounding out the bonus
group , dad Jerry "the Pigeon Man" Pytlewski garnered a winning 5-4
record. Jerry is no stranger to Stiga as he was proud to show off his
eclectically decorated home model. Hope we get to see a photo of it
someday on the cafe. The bottom half came in as follows: Sixth was a
tie between Bill McDaniel at 4-5 and former U.I.C. Flame college ice
hockey player Jeff Blum who drove in from Michigan in pouring rain.
Eighth went to Will Sundwall at 2-7 . Ninth was Matt Soukup at 1-8,
and finally there was John Buttney at 0-10. The games consisted of
one period of 5 minute running time. This summer league plays on
Saturday nights mostly. For time and location check out the table
hockey messageboard. Action takes place in Lemont, Illinois which
along with Chicago are the twin table hockey capitals of
Illinois. TW3 Sports Reporting
